Allan Power to join the International SCUBA Diving Hall of Fame

Australian diving pioneer Allan Power will be inducted into the International SCUBA Diving Hall of Fame next year.
Saturday 31st July 2010

The award recognises Allan's achievement over 40 years in turning the wreck of the SS President Coolidge in Vanuatu into one of the best wreck dives in the world. This has been accomplished by recognising the degree of difficulty of each dive and structuring each dive to the individual diver. By doing this, divers of varying ability can safely appreciate the magnificance of the SS President Coolidge.

This well deserved recognition is a timely reminder that many who have contributed a great deal to the sport continue to do so and play an active role in furthering safe diving practices around the world.

Allan has been invited to attend a special reception to receive his award in the Cayman Islands, late in 2011.

Allan, 77, is still very much a part of the day to day operation of his dive tour company in Vanuatu and is on hand to meet with and share his diving experiences with clients.
